Euro Cup 2024 Qualifying: France 2-0 Ireland
France played Ireland in the fifth round of Euro Cup qualifying, winning comfortably 2-0 at home. The team has now won five matches in a row and still hasn't conceded a single goal.
Aurélien Tchouaméni's shot from outside the box gave France the lead 19 minutes into the first half, and Marcus Thuram scored his first goal for the national team in the second half to keep his team at the top of Group B with points.
Giroud, who was making his 125th national team appearance, was substituted in the 25th minute with an ankle injury. Kylian Mbappe, the centerpiece of France's attack, didn't score in the match, but his assist helped Tchouameni open the scoring.
